Photography price: What influences the final price of a photo?
Photography price list
Are you thinking about hiring a photographer but your head is spinning with all the different prices and packages? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. The cost of a photo shoot depends on several factors – most notably the type of photography you need. Let’s take a look at what all affects the final price and how photography prices vary depending on the type of photography and the use of the final photos.
1. The price of wedding photography.
Weddings are probably one of the most expensive photography services. We are talking about one of the most important days of your life! The photographer takes wedding photos throughout the day, often from morning to night. That is why it is really important that the photographer has experience, because the events at a wedding happen very quickly and are not repeated! Can you imagine being left without photos of a kiss because the photographer had to change the card during your kiss?
Number of hours of photographer's presence at the wedding: more hours - higher price.
Additional photographer - If you want more angles, you may need another additional photographer.
Photo editing - Editing images that you are then happy to show to everyone is not an easy job. All photos need to be reviewed, selected and only those that are suitable and aesthetically processed. If a pimple appears on the wedding day from all the excitement and rush before the wedding day, the photographer will also take care of photo retouching.
Albums, photo books, printing and additional services - Printed photos, photo albums or photo books and other additional wishes increase the final cost of the entire wedding photography. The prices of physical books and albums can vary greatly, the price is affected by the size, quantity and selected materials.
The price for wedding photography ranges from €800 to several thousand euros, depending on your wishes. Albums and photo books start from €250 and up with most photographers.
2. Portrait photography - price
Portrait photography is a genre that is very diverse. We can talk about a personal portrait in nature, a prepared scene or a studio. It can be a family photo shoot with children and four-legged friends. Or portrait photography can include professional business photography. Here the price is most often determined by:
Number of people – More people require more time and effort to compose. Location – Studio portraits are usually less expensive than outdoor or location-specific portraits. Retouching and editing – Making sure everyone looks great can mean a few extra hours at the computer.
The average price for portrait photography is usually between €150 and €300, but it can go up if you want truly unique and artistic photos.
3. Price of product photography for an online store
If you have an online store or are planning an advertising campaign, professional product photography is a very important factor in attracting customers.
The main factors that affect the price are:
Number of products – More products means more time and work.
Type of products – Sophisticated products, such as jewelry, shiny metals, or glass, require more technical knowledge, specialized equipment, and attention to detail.
Background and layout – A simple white background is less expensive, while placing products in an arranged environment is more expensive.
The price usually ranges between €15 and €50 per photo, which of course depends on your ideas and concepts.
4. Price - event photography
When it comes to event photography, we are talking about different types of events, such as birthdays, corporate events, concerts, conference events and more. The price is affected by:
Length of event – A full-day event is understandably more expensive than a few-hour event. Type of event – Corporate event photography may require different skills than concerts or sporting events. Photo processing and distribution – Do you need your images the next day? This can also affect the price!
For an event lasting 2 to 3 hours, you can expect a price starting at €200.
5. Price of real estate and ambient photography.
Real estate photography is important when selling or renting out a property. To attract tenants or buyers, inviting photos are the deciding factor in where you will spend your vacation or where you will create a home according to your wishes. The price of photography is influenced by:
Property Size – Larger properties require more time. Set-up – Sometimes photographers also offer a service where they make sure the space is nicely set up for the shoot. Drone shots – If you want drone shots, this usually comes with an additional cost.
The price for real estate and ambient photography ranges between €150 and €500, but can increase if special techniques are added, such as 3D walkthroughs or aerial shots.
6. Food photography - price.
Are you salivating at the thought of taking photos of your plates that look so good that people will want to eat them right off the screen? Professional food photography is the secret ingredient for any restaurant, cookbook, or blog that wants to stand out and attract true foodies.
Food has to look perfect! But making it look fresh, delicious, and photogenic isn't as easy as it seems.
Food preparation: A food stylist can turn a burger into a movie star. It’s not cheating, it’s art! In a restaurant, the head chef or chef takes care of the food preparation. The right lighting and equipment: Food doesn’t like the wrong lighting – without the right techniques, a pizza can look like a pancake. Setting the scene: The right plate and utensils help the food stand out and show off the style and atmosphere.
The price for food photography starts at approximately €300. However, it certainly depends on the location, quantity of food, utensils, and complexity of food preparation.
